This year I entered the Inverness Half Marathon on 11th March and I felt if my training for this went well then I would enter the marathon. The 11th March has now past. I ran the Inverness Half Marathon with my little brother David and friend Steven Calder. It began at the Inverness Aquadome, the course stretched round Inverness for 13 miles then finished on the track of the Queens Stadium. We all completed it in style beating our estimated times. David and I finished in 1:52:09 and Steven finished in 1:58:29. What also helped us was the encouragement of our fantastic group of supporters who made the effort to travel down and cheer us over the finish line!! So here I am entered and in training for the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday the 27th May 2007. While taking on this mammoth task I wish to raise as much money as I possibly can for Breast Cancer Care Scotland and the local Macmillan Cancer Support, Wick Committee. I chose these charities as so many friends close to us all recently have received treatment for or past away from Cancer.
